THE NYSE
Womenfuture and New York Stock Exchange
Host Second in Series Of Candid Conversations About Leadership
NEW YORK (January 28, 2002) - The second event in the Womenfuture
Exchange Series, which brings together select groups of
world-class leaders for conversations on a variety of important
topics, convened today at The New York Stock Exchange to
discuss leadership in turbulent times. Noreen Culhane, Executive
Vice President, New York Stock Exchange, Catherine Kinney,

Among the issues discussed by a wide array of senior business

central to the vision of Womenfuture.
"360 degree leadership is a new way
to approach the future, encompassing several intersecting
concepts," said Susan W. Bird, CEO of Womenfuture.
"It says that leaders at their best draw upon all aspects
of their personalities, as well as the full range of their
experience and expertise, as appropriate to the situation
and context; That leaders at their best continually seek
to increase the circumference of their circles of personal
knowledge and experience by maintaining a curiosity of the
world around them, regardless of the source of information;
That a company led by leadership at its best, strives to
exploit all the skills of its workforce, awarding talent
and risk-taking in every employee, regardless of gender,
background and experience, and; That such a company considers
itself a global citizen, seeking to circumnavigate the globe
to find new markets and new talent, regardless of geography."
