ACCENTURE AND WOMENFUTURE TO EXPAND
GLOBAL GATHERING OF BUSINESS LEADERS TO ASIA AND AUSTRALIA
Womenfuture's MainEvent Road Show
Will Examine the State of Leadership and Lifestyle Issues
for Business Leaders in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and
Australia-
NEW YORK (September 12, 2001)-Building on the success begun
at Womenfuture's global MainEvent earlier this year,
Accenture and Womenfuture announced today the expansion
of the "MainEvent Road Show" to Hong Kong,
Japan, Singapore and Australia.
The Road Show marks an extension of Womenfuture's
MainEvent, as it continues to engage women and men
around the world, in important conversations not only about
women's initiatives, but also about leadership skills and
diversity issues that companies, individuals and both genders
face, everyday.
"Our goal is to engage thousands
of people in these conversations and give them the tools
to build on the knowledge and experiences shared to feel
connected, not only with the professionals, colleagues and
friends that they see on a daily basis, but with a global
community of peers," said Womenfuture CEO and Founder,
Susan Willett Bird. "By bringing these conversations
to Asia and Australia, we are further expanding our network
of leaders and truly creating a global conversation."
Throughout September, 2001, the MainEvent
Road Show will engage business leaders in Asia and Australia
in the global conversations begun at Womenfuture's MainEvent
2001 telecast earlier this year. That event, which involved
over 15,000 women and men from college students to CEOs
of multinational corporations, discussed a wide variety
of timely topics facing women today. Local audiences throughout
Asia and Australia will participate, using video content
from the April event, interspersed with live panel discussions
among their country's leading businesswomen and men. Each
audience will also have the opportunity to interact with
their local panels and one another through Q&A periods,
as well as individualized networking sessions.
The Road Show begins on September 12th
in Hong Kong and will address two topics: "Power: The
Art of Using It," and "It's Not Just Talk: The
Truth About Men, Women and Communication." Co-sponsored
and organized by Accenture and PCCW, this half-day event
will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
On September 18th, the Road Show will
travel to Singapore to discuss the topic of "Marketing
Your Products and Services to the New Purchase Decision
Maker." Co-hosted by Womenfuture and INSEAD, and sponsored
by Womenfuture, this special presentation will take place
on the INSEAD Singapore Campus, and engage INSEAD MBA Students,
Faculty and Alumnae, as well as local business and community
leaders.
September 20th finds the Road Show in
Tokyo, where the event will focus on "Work/Life Balance."
September 25th and 26th, the Road Show heads to Sydney and
Melbourne, Australia respectively, and will address the
topics, "Attracting and Retaining Employees in Rapid
Times of Change," "Using Power Responsibly,"
"Breaking Through the Glass Ceiling," and "Developing
and Sharing Leadership Skills."
Womenfuture CEO and Founder, Susan Willett
Bird, will travel with the Road Show and visit each of the
five cities. An attorney, entrepreneur and experienced moderator
and facilitator, Ms Bird hopes that the Austral-Asian Road
Show will further the conversation begun earlier this year
on the issues facing women globally.
Accenture continues their support as a
MainEvent Global Sponsor by involving their employees
in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Melbourne as sponsors of
the MainEvent Road Show. In Hong Kong, the MainEvent
is co-sponsored with PCCW, one of Asia's leading integrated
communications companies. In Australia, the MainEvent
is co-sponsored with Baker & McKenzie, a leading global
law firm with offices in more than twenty-five countries.
"As an organization committed to
innovation and women's achievements, we are proud to join
forces with Womenfuture during this historic global event,"
said Accenture Chairman and CEO, Joe W. Forehand at the
inaugural April 5 MainEvent. "The MainEvent
shares our vision that together we can change the way the
world works and lives. It is an exciting and energizing
event for all of us."
"Accenture strongly believes in Womenfuture's
mission to empower and develop professional women around
the world," added Susan B. Butler, Managing Partner-
Office of the CEO, Accenture. "The MainEvent
Road Show provides the opportunity to engage our global
workforce, men and women alike, in a productive dialogue
about current business and societal issues."
