Called a “powerhouse” by senior executives around the world, and a preeminent brand builder by the Gulf region’s business elite, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi is Chief Executive of Tejari, the Middle East’s premier electronic business-to-business marketplace. Under Al Qasimi’s leadership, Tejari quickly realized an operating profit and doubled in size since 2000, and has already been lauded with awards, including the World Summit for Information Society’s “Best e-Content Provider in e-business” (Geneva) and the UAE Super Brands Council “Super Brand of 2003.” Al Qasimi has more than fifteen years of information technology management experience in the Middle East region. Prior to managing Tejari, she was a Senior Executive at the Dubai Ports Authority (DPA). She is one of three women first appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University of Chico, and an MBA from the American University of Sharjah. Her many personal awards include the Datamatix “IT Woman of the Year” Award in 2001. Al Qasimi lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
