It takes a "360" ability to see broadly and lead inclusively, and the best 360 practitioners are important role models for businesspeople everywhere.

The 360 Leadership Award is an annual prize, presented at the 360 Summit each year in front of an audience of nearly 200 directors and board members of publicly listed companies at the New York Stock Exchange in New York City, that recognizes individuals who:

•  Use the full complement of their abilities as the situation requires, so that their response is appropriate to the venue, the people involved and the nature of the issues at hand. The 360 Leader draws on the full range of both "masculine" and "feminine" leadership styles, from decisiveness, toughness and force of will, to collaboration, inclusiveness, and intuitiveness;

•  Think globally, recognizing that today's opportunities, as well as tomorrow's competitive threats, come from everywhere in the world;

•  Have an ability to see life and its challenges in an historic context, employing lessons from the past to lead effectively for the future; and

•  Have an appetite for excellence, no matter the source. By employing people who are "best in class" the 360 Leader's organization is more likely to include diversity of thought reflecting a multiplicity of backgrounds and cultures.

The first 360 Leadership Award was presented to Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan in April 2004.
